TRIP DETAILS AND WHAT TO BRING WHEN YOU GO TO CATALINA

For this trip we plan to take the 8:15am Catalina Express from Long Beach to Avalon and return on the 6:30pm Catalina Express. The schedule for the day includes 2 morning dives and break for lunch, and an afternoon dive. Transportation of gear to and from the dive park will be provided by Blue line Luggage which is included in the trip package. Participants can either walk or taxi to the dive park, which about a 20 minute walk. Please bring water and snacks for in between dives.

Bring All your regular SCUBA gear except weights and tanks. Lay everything out and use a checklist. Pack (in a dive roller bag works best) in reverse order so the items you will need first are on top. If you need to rent gear, you can arrange for rentals through Signature Scuba.

Do not leave your gear unattended at any time while boarding in Long Beach.

Gear: regulator, BCD, mask, fins, snorkel, boots, gloves, hood, exposure suit, surface marker buoy (SMB), anti-fog, dive lights, camera, extra batteries, and anything else you normally dive with.

Also bring the following;

• Water
• Snacks
• C-Card
• Log Book
• First Aid kit
• Save-A-Dive kit (O-rings, mask and fin strap, computer battery, etc)
• Extra towel
• Sunscreen
• Hat/Sunglasses
• Dive Parka, windbreaker, or sweatshirt in case it gets cold.
• A change of clothes. Example: If I'm going to wear shorts and sandals, I will usually pack a pair of jeans, socks, and tennis shoes. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
• Cash for gratuity (ex. taxi, tank rentals, guides, dining). Standard dining gratuity protocol is customary. $15.00-$20.00 for a 3-tank trip per person.
• Take motion sickness medication as directed if needed.
